Tandem Scheme

The Association has 3 of its own tandems and also has front and back riders who go out using their own tandems.

We are seeking to recruit more front riders to enable visually impaired back riders to go out more often.

Front riders do not need to be experienced tandem riders as KAB will prvide training, but do need to be experienced cyclists.

Volunteer front riders are matched with a client who wants to do similar distances and speeds. This can range from an hours cycling round the park to a day out. KAB provides protective helmets and a warning tabard for the back rider.

For further information on the Tandem Scheme please contact Kerry at the KAB office on 020 8605 0060.

Walking Buddies

KAB has recently recruited its first Walking Buddy. Volunteers are needed for short walks , round the block or perhaps a short walk in the park, or longer walks of 3 to 5 miles.

Similar volunteers are needed.

Training will be provided by KAB.

Running Buddies

Volunteers are needed to take visually impaired people out for a run. This can be anything from a short jog to a longer run. Volunteers are matched to a client appropriately.
