Kingston Association for the Blind Supports the following clubs

Kingston Macular Disease Support Group

For anyone suffering from central vision loss, carers are welcome. Meetings on the 2nd Thursday of each month 10am to 12pm at The United Reform Church, Eden Street, Kingston


Eye Contact Club

For adults any age with a visual impairment. Meets 2nd Tuesday of each month from 1.00 – 3.00 p.m. at
The Malden Centre, New Malden.
Support group, a focus group, and social activities.

New Malden Blind Club

Social activities and outings. Meets alternate Wednesdays
2.00 – 4.00 p.m. at Christchurch Hall, Coombe Road,
New Malden.

Surbiton Club for the Blind

Social activities and outings.Meets Tuesday fortnightly
2.00 – 4.00 p.m. at Surbiton Hill Methodist Church
(next to the Fire Station)

Kingston Talking Newspaper

Produced by volunteers for the visually impaired, the paper is a weekly digest of information and local news on a 90-minute cassette tape. Free to recipients.

Buddy Scheme

Trained volunteers available to visit blind and partially sighted people in their homes to help with reading mail, sorting bills, a cup of tea, companionship. Volunteers can also take clients out for short leisure trips, to the shops etc. Small scale DIY service also offered.

KAB Tandem Scheme

The Association matches volunteers with blind and partially sighted cyclists so that they can go out together on one of the KAB tandems which are kept in Kingston.

Social Eyes Blind Club

Craft and other varied activities. Meets alternate Tuesdays fortnightly
